It was definitely much better being based at Anos Vale Medical center rather than the main hospital. Dr Dougan was fantastic, i definitely got a lot more teaching than those based in the main hospital. At the same time it was very relaxed and i was able to take off certain days to explore the island. I also really enjoyed my day in surgery with him. Dr. Dougan was definitely the best part of my elective, he was so keen to teach and knew so much.

I shadowed Dr stephens who was very happy for me to sit in with him and see the examinations. Answeres any questions i had and was always very friendly. I also really enjoyed being able to go into the operating theatre for a session. there were so many great trips, I would recommend the Tobaga Cays, Bequia, Climbing Mt Soufriere, Owia salt ponds and Fort Duvernette.

I had such an amazing time in the Caribbean! The people, the culture, the music… It is just wonderful. There was so much to see and do. swimming with turtles at the Tobago cays and a weekend on the beautiful beaches of Bequia were definitely my highlights. I loved the program, specially the extra community stuff. it made my elective feel that little bit more unique and special, and it was a lovely chance to gain experience out of hospital setting. I would definitely recommend St. Vincent as an elective destination.

The highlight of my elective was being immersed in a new culture both socially and medically. It was interesting to experience the medical problems that come with a different culture and some i have never seen before. Learning about local culture, trying new experience, food, dances and making friends! Exploring the beautiful island of Sr. Vincent and the Grenadines, from waterfalls to salt ponds to rainforests and amazing beaches, it has it all! i fell in love with the island.

The Volunteer program was all I ever wanted, the school was ideal; I felt the real sense of helping. I wanted to leave a foot mark on my elective trip and this time I did it. Accommodation was comfortable and food excellent. The Staff were outstanding – passionate, informative, engaging and entertaining. The itinerary was very well thought out, combining leisure time with Volunteering.  A Volunteer is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting do Volunteering, have fun, relax, educational holiday – they will deliver!

We had the most remarkable family Volunteer Trip with KIVOLEX Volunteers. Not only everything was perfect, but we felt, in every instance, that our guides and the whole KIVOLEX Team truly cared about us, both the kids and adults, and did their best to make this trip memorable. For our well-traveled children (aged 9 and 6) this definitely has become the most eye-opening, adventurous, and stunning journey of their life – something they will remember, draw upon, and cherish for many years to come. For adults, we were pleasantly surprised by the diversity of our trip: from Volunteering at the Hospital and School to Safari, from swimming on the shores of the Tanzanian Ocean to doing a Stone town tour, from Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro to Fishing on Mafia Island, every island and every new activity offered new experiences. We definitely will be back!

Program was immaculate. All of the KIVOLEX staff were professionals and very nice. Staff at the School where we taught were very organized and always there for us if we had any questions. We always felt safe, well taken care of with a very friendly attitude from the team while they showed us a great time, both fun and educational. Second time Volunteering with KIVOLEX Volunteers and we will definitely do it again. Excellent.

The people at KIVOLEX are kind and helpful. My friends and I had a good time with KIVOLEX. It was my very first trip to Asia, and I would definitely want to go back. It was my dream to one day work in Asia and in exact environment KIVOLEX took me. As a nurse student I had not only a learning experience but also a working one, although supervised but at times they would let me practice as a nurse and get that feeling of being registered and licensed nurse. The hospital is a very good place to learn and grow as a junior nurse from abroad. If you are looking to learning and get experience in a different environment outside your comfort zone. This Medical Volunteer program in Tanzania introduced me to almost everything I wished to experience.

Loved my experience with KIVOLEX. I got to help out in the emergency department, pediatric/male/female wards and the maternity department of the hospital. I witnessed/assisted with natural births, as well as witnessed c-sections in theatre. The people at the hospital were fabulous, as were the staff (at the elective house). The food was excellent, as was the accommodation. Lots of activities to do in spare time, I went up to Brazil to do some tours, and spent a lot of time with coworkers at the hospital. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was getting the bus to and from work – if you can organise a driver then I would recommend doing that. I would do this experience again, without a shadow of a doubt, and highly recommend it!
